MISSION AND EMPLOYMENT
This fast
patrol boat performs safety and state authority missions in waters under national
jurisdiction, in the continental coastal zone and in the Madeira archipelago.
Within the
vast scope of its assignments, the search and rescue, patrol and inspection of
maritime areas, suppression of unlawful activity in cooperation with other
State agents, and in support of anti-pollution at sea operations are
noteworthy.
At times,
it takes part in national naval exercises, as well as exercises with warships
from foreign navies, during their transit in national waters.
In regard
to training, it preforms training courses for the Guarda Nacional Republicana
military, within the scope of the preparation for serving aboard the fast
patrol boat in the service of the Guarda Nacional Republicana.
