MISSION AND EMPLOYMENT
This fast
patrol boat performs safety and state authority missions, within national
jurisdiction waters, in the continental coastal zone and the Madeira
archipelago.
Within the
vast scope of its assignments, the search and rescue, patrol and inspection of
maritime areas, support of anti-pollution at sea, and operations suppression of
unlawful activity (such as drug trafficking and illegal immigration) in a
narrow cooperation with other State agents are noteworthy.
Punctually,
it takes part in national naval exercises, and performs force protection
missions by escorting warships during transit in confined waters; it also
cooperates in the training of other naval units.
