NRP Pégaso
CENTAURO CLASS

The NRP Pégaso is the third ship of the Centauro Class. Its construction began in October 1998, at the Mondego shipyards. On March 27th, 2001, it became ready for normal operation.
HERALDIC PENNANTAzure striped Argent and the motto “NRP PÉGASO” in dark capital letters, elzevir font. One of the sides charges a mythological figure Argent, enlivened in Sable.
PATRONPégaso (Pegasus) is the name of a constellation. In Greek mythology, Pégaso was a winged horse, symbol of immortality.

​MISSION AND EMPLOYMENT

This fast patrol boat with an innovative structure (corrosion resistant aluminum), performs missions on the scope of security and State authority areas under national jurisdiction, namely inspection patrol in waters under national jurisdiction – with the greater emphasis on the territorial sea.

Punctually, it takes part in national naval exercises​ as well as exercises with warships from foreign navies, during their transit in national waters.​
