HERALDIC PENNANTPurpure striped Argent and the motto “NRP SAGITÁRIO” in dark capital letters, elzevir font. One of the sides charges a Centaur, wielding a bow and arrow, enhanced in Sable.
PATRONSagitário (Sagitarius) is the name of a constellation. In Greek mythology, while Quíron was waiting for Hercules, was approached by centaurs who challenged him to a fight. On his way back from fighting Hydra, Hercules watches from afar an unfair battle of Quíron against many Centaurs. Hercules shoots an arrow to hit the leader, but the arrow hits Quíron on his leg. Being immortal, the poison did not take his life, but it caused a painful and incurable wound.
For years, Quíron tried to endure the pain, but he ended up begging the Gods for them to take his immortality away in order for his pain to stop. The Gods granted him his request, as a reminder he transformed into the Sagittarius constellation – a Centaur with a bow and arrow on his hands.
