The Robotic Experimentation Prototyping augmented by Maritime Unmanned Systems – REP (MUS) – is an experimentation exercise designed to allow, on an annual basis, a large-scale experimentation where Operational Communities work together with Academia and Industry to develop and test operational concepts and requirements, technological advances and new progresses in sensors, actuators, C3, tactics and procedures on MUS in most of maritime operations.

REP (MUS) 20

The current pandemic situation of COVID-19, led to the cancelation of the Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping augmented by Maritime Unmanned Systems – REP(MUS) 2020 exercise.  To allow the MUS community to share developments achieved and to set the goals for the REP (MUS 21) and after consultation with the exercise core planning team, the Portuguese Navy is organizing a REP (MUS) Webinar. This webinar will provide an open forum for evaluation of the operational exploitation of Maritime Unmanned Systems to fulfil the maritime capability gaps, aligned with the NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP) capability targets and intends to:

  • Promote the development and evaluation of operational concepts on MUS;
  • Discuss NATO’s and Nation’s technological and operational capability concerning MUS;
  • Discuss MUS capabilities contribution for an enhanced Maritime Situational Awareness in all domains (Air, Surface and Underwater);
  • Introduce REP(MUS) 21 aim, objectives and planning.
